NYC Marathon Question

Hi NY squad,

I’m goose. I run with Chicago endorphins but I have a question regarding hotel accommodations for NYC marathon. I know people suggests to stay near FiDi to catch the ferry but what is the best recommendation or tip to finding a room without being price gouged ? 

For previous NYC marathoners , what’s one thing you wish you did or what worked for you in terms of finding a place to stay for the weekend. 

(Also will be taking any restaurant requests for carb loading and burgers hehe)
