Dullness in kneecap

I had pain in my kneecap a couple of weeks ago when I tried to run. I took almost two weeks off and worked on rehabbing it and doing a lot of knee strengthening exercises. I ran a few miles today slowly and it felt fine, post run it feels worked and dull but not too bad. I have a 10 mile race in a week and a half I’d like to run, but is that far fetched? Recs on how to make this feeling lessen?
